With one of the longest winters behind us – finally – I’m craving some light and fruity flavours. And with the weekend a mere hours away, my mind’s on cocktails. If you read my post on creating an elegant and easy Parisian Brunch, you know that I owe you a cocktail for brunch. And have I got the perfect one! My Gin and Jam Fizz, is easy, fruity and perfect for brunch.
There are only a few things I love more than brunch – my family and friends, design, travel … but then, it’s definitely brunch. Especially when you find a great new restaurant that specialises in brunch Lynchburg based or similar. In fact, I’ve often joked that if I do ever get married, I’ll serve brunch at the reception!
Why the intense love for Brunch? It always feels a bit classy and special – the bubbles probably have something to do with that 😉 The food options are literally doubled – breakfast and lunch to choose from, depending on the mood. And it usually lingers into the early afternoon. Rarely is anyone ever in a hurry to leave.
I must admit quiche isn’t a dish I make or order often. But when hosting family and friends for brunch, it’s the perfect dish to serve. It can be made ahead of time, can feed a large group and is just as delicious fresh out of the oven as it is at room temperature. And friends, this Mushroom and Shallot Quiche is divine, the perfect decadent treat for your loved ones.
