I’m not one to jump on food trends, despite having a certificate as a nutritionist, I take my time warming up to new foods. Take for instance Matcha, I’ve tried it over the years in smoothies and as lattes. But it wasn’t until a friend made Matcha cookies, that I was intrigued. With St. Patricks Day just around the corner, I thought what better time to explore baking with Matcha than now, it just happens to be the perfect colour! Which brings me to today’s recipe, a Matcha Cheesecake.
Design esthetics vary from designer to designer and publication to publication. One that I love working with and am always drawn to is modern traditional. The use of traditional elements in a new and relevant way. But traditional influence doesn’t always come in the form of furnishings and fabrics, it can also come in the form of family and heritage.
My favourite part of the design process is when all the major pieces – surfaces, furnishings and textiles are in and I get to style the space for the client reveal or a photo shoot. It’s when the whole vision comes together – little elements that on their own may appear insignificant brought together to tell a story. Because, design after all is in the details.
