One of my favorite Friday night rituals is a charcuterie picnic in my living room. After a full week, I seldom want to go out and be social, so the perfect Friday night is at home, in my PJs with Netflix and my love.
The easy, no-fuss nature of a charcuterie is perfect, I use the same principles when I’m entertaining as when it’s just the two of us. The key to a good charcuterie is variety and not over thinking it.
The days are shorter, mornings are crisp and the kids are back in school, September is here and fall is in the air. For me it’s an exciting time, things start to ramp up after summer and fall trends in fashion and décor start to emerge.
This year at the fall fashion shows designers took literal inspiration from interior design. Tory Burch’s collection was a beautiful expression of Marrakech-meets-Chelsea with kilim patterns as digital prints or jacquards in vintage silhouettes reminiscent of Moroccan Rugs.
I love having inspiring phrases and quotes around me, especially in my work space. And I love DIY projects. So this easy art piece is extra special and extra simple. It’s one of many DIY projects I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time. A friend of mine even suggested that I get a portable zink printer to help with any designs for my phrases, but I opted to do something a little more creative, which you will see later.
You’ll need a shadow box frame, spray paint in the colour of your choice, a glue gun and letters, I used wooden letters from the craft store, but the magnetic plastic ones from childhood would work great as well.
