As I settle in to write this, I’ve just returned from taking my niece and nephew to see Santa, my second Molasses Spice Cake of the season is baking (the first one disappeared far too quickly!) and Elf is playing in the background. It is safe to say I am in Full. Holiday. Mode. And while I hadn’t planned on writing another post before the new year, I couldn’t let the season pass without sharing some holiday cheer. A Pomegranate, Pear and Prosecco Cocktail. So simple and full of bright, fruity flavours, it’s the perfect solution to the very cold and snowy conditions we’re experiencing in Calgary.
I’m often asked about the Prosecco in the name of this blog (and my now company) – simply put it’s a representation of joy and celebration. A gentle reminder to follow and nurture our bliss and celebrate, not just the extraordinary, but the seemingly ordinary moments in life as well. It serves a symbol for one of my greatest joys: travel, while conjuring memories of one of my favourite places: Italy.
Fruitier, lighter and less scary to open (it’s bottled at a lower pressure) than Champagne, it’s a humble representation of what I hope to inspire here.
Well it sure felt like fall for the first week back to school here in Calgary. Crisp mornings, leaves on walkways and the debut of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. But thankfully the weather-man is calling for sunny skies and warm temps for the weekend! Since I’m not quite ready to say good-bye to summer, I thought I would celebrate the first week back to routine with Blackberry Rose Popsicles.
Sound amazing, don’t they? They are!
