Happy Long Weekend my Canadian Friends! I’m sure we’re all thinking it, but it has to be said – how is it October already?!! While I love fall and all it’s flavours and colours, it has come way to fast this year! So I’m going to drown my sorrows in alcohol, like the mature adult that I am. Once again, I’m only half joking 😉
If like me you just can’t get enough of pumpkin at this time of year and your neck of the woods are frigid and calling for snow, I’ve got the perfect cocktail for you – a Pumpkin Spiced Old-Fashioned – think pumpkin pie with a kick!
So throw on your coziest sweater, build a fire and snuggle in for a weekend of gathering with friends and family, delicious food and the celebration of gratitude.
Ingredients
1 and 1/2 ounce Bourbon
1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
1 tablespoon maple syrup
A dash of cinnamon
A dash of nutmeg
Garnish of your choice: ground cherries, rosemary, a cinnamon stick, or orange peel.
Directions
Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain through a fine meshed strainer into a cocktail glass chilled and filled with ice. Garnish and enjoy!
