Summer is all about dining al fresco. And there is nothing more I love than hosting friends for a casual and laid back summer meal. But with only a small, seven feet by eleven feet inner city balcony, creating an inspiring place to host my dearest required some creativity. Today I’m sharing the tricks I used to create an enchanted inner city outdoor entertaining space for anyone with a small, perhaps uninspired patio or balcony.
With Victoria Day Long Weekend (affectionately known as May Long) only a few days away, that signals to many of us Canucks time to get our outdoor spaces summer ready. Summer after all is about outdoor living, and with such a short season around these parts, it’s best we get on it! I’ve pulled together 15 spaces that are sure to inspire you, from a picnic table under a pergola and a Moroccan oasis to pool side lounging and swinging in a whimsical chair, you’ll never want to come in!
An early spring here in the prairies means we’re all ecstatic and spending as much time outside as possible! Many of us save getting our backyards, patios and gardens ready for summer until the May long weekend, but this year that will put us behind! So I’ve pulled together some of my favorite ways to get the backyard ready for quiet mornings enjoying coffee and the paper to entertaining friends and family.
