Client Reveal: Nautical Nursery

While I’m hesitant to declare any space my favourite to design, there is something particularly special about working on a nursery.  Getting to play a small part in preparation for baby – setting the stage, so to speak – is such a joy and a real honour. Nurseries also allow for a little more creativity, which is never a bad thing.

When Jami reached out for help with her second baby’s nursery, she had two wishes: incorporating Joanna Gaines’ shiplap wallpaper and nothing too cutesy – I knew we’d get along smashingly! While it’s easy to get carried away with themes when decorating nurseries and children’s room, creating a space with an understated theme that will grow and transition with the child is my goal.  I knew immediately what I wanted to do: a Nautical Nursery.

Client Reveal: Rocky Mountain Nursery

Rocky Mountain Nursery

Whether you have children of your own or not, it’s hard not to be drawn into the the excitement and magic of a nursery waiting to welcome the newest member of a family.  Having some tiny part in the first few years of a child’s life is so incredibly special, an honour I don’t take lightly.  When a former assistant shared that she was expecting and needed help with the nursery I was thrilled and so touched to play a smart part in preparing for baby.  High school sweethearts, Sabrina and Chase are kind, fun-loving and the most down to earth couple I know.  With a serious love of the outdoors, in particular our gorgeous Canadian Rockies, there was no question this space would have an outdoorsy, animal theme.  A Rocky Mountain Nursery.
