If you’ve followed along for a while, you know I love historic homes that are given a modern update. In particular those that honor the age and authenticity of the home. It’s easy to give a space a complete modern makeover. But to celebrate it’s past by incorporating historical elements into a modern esthetic is much more challenging.
This weeks Inspired Interiors feature is a stunning home makeover in Texas. Outdated wallpaper, closed off spaces, drop ceilings, and old can lighting were replaced with an open concept floor plan and modern accents. Creating the illusion of much more volume and space, while making the home more conducive to how we live in 2020.
This weeks inspired interiors home tour is a gorgeous home in Rumson, NJ. Full disclosure I had to google Rumson and I’m so glad I did. It’s a lovely community just a 45 minute ferry ride from Manhattan. Described as having a Hampton’s like feel, families are moving from the city in favor of a quieter, suburban lifestyle.
