Spiced Pear Cake with Butterscotch Sauce

When it comes to holiday baking, it’s always hard to choose a favourite. But if there was a flavour profile I absolutely adore at this time of year and find myself gravitating towards time and time again, it would have to be all things spiced.  If you’ve been here for the last few years, you would have seen my Molasses Spiced Cake. Still a favourite and one that I will definitely be baking again this year.

But I thought I would kick off the holiday baking season with something a little less quintessentially holiday – a Spiced Pear Cake, with Butterscotch Sauce.

Molasses Spice Cake

No surprise here – I’m usually in charge of dessert at our Holiday meal! And this year, I’m keeping things simple with a repeat of last year’s cake, a Molasses Spice Cake. It was such a hit and features my favorite holiday flavours, I figure why mess with a good thing.  Topped with a delicious maple glaze and packed with flavour, you’ll definitely want a second piece, so leave room!  Word of caution though, only try this cake if you’re a fan of molasses and spiced holiday treats.

Holiday Cookies

Do you have a favorite holiday cookie?  I love almost all cookies, but if I had to choose it’d be a tie between sugar cookies and gingersnaps.  I love sugar cookies for decorating and soft and chewy gingersnaps are just the best.  I’ve pulled together some of my favorite Holiday Cookies here for you, in case you’re still looking for something to bake 😉  Enjoy!
