The Dunbar

I’m often asked what my favorite thing to bake is and I’m always at a loss!  I never know how to choose –  what I love putting together, what I most enjoy or what my family and friends most enjoy.

If I chose based on the later, these bars would win hands down.  Every.  Time.

Family and friends have loving started calling these ‘Crack’ Bars, because they are that good (we imagine) and that addictive.  They are part candy, part cookie, 100% scrumptious!

Apple Crisp

Well before I dive into Christmas baking, I thought I would enjoy a classic fall treat on this last Sunday in November.

Apple Crisp is nostalgic for me, not much of a baker, it’s one of the few things my Mom did bake growing up.  And every time I make it, I understand why – it’s so darn easy!  Simple ingredients, the more rustic the better, virtually impossible to mess up!

I found these adorable maple leaf dishes and divided the recipe among four of them.  But it tastes just as good baked in a conventional baking dish, I promise 😉

Paper Muffin Liners

Since presentation is everything, I absolutely love this easy trick to take muffins to the next level.  I used think these baker counter muffin liners required some sort of special skill or at the very least some type of special paper, but I was wrong!  No special skills (or paper) required.

And when you serve your friends and family muffins wrapped in these liners, they’ll think you picked them up from the local bakery, until you blow them away and share that you did them yourself!
