Whether you have children of your own or not, it’s hard not to be drawn into the the excitement and magic of a nursery waiting to welcome the newest member of a family. Having some tiny part in the first few years of a child’s life is so incredibly special, an honour I don’t take lightly. When a former assistant shared that she was expecting and needed help with the nursery I was thrilled and so touched to play a smart part in preparing for baby. High school sweethearts, Sabrina and Chase are kind, fun-loving and the most down to earth couple I know. With a serious love of the outdoors, in particular our gorgeous Canadian Rockies, there was no question this space would have an outdoorsy, animal theme. A Rocky Mountain Nursery.
To keep the nursery from feeling overly masculine (they’re expecting a girl), we chose a soft lavender and grey palette. Paired with the gorgeous cherry furniture, the room feels warm and welcoming. What makes this beautiful nursery extra special is the artwork above the changing table, Sabrina herself painted them!
As an interior decorator, it’s hard to choose my most favorite spaces to decorate, but nurseries definitely hold a special place in my heart. I hope you enjoy this tour of a very special Rocky Mountain Nursery waiting to welcome a beautiful baby girl any day now!

Hi Neelam, I searched these colors on the Olympic website and they didn’t come up.
Hi Brittney,

What order did you paint the mountains? I’m trying to get my head around how you used the painters tape. It would obviously leave a 1-inch strip of the base color wherever the tape is placed. I’m assuming you painted from the back layers forward. Thanks!
Hi Mike,
Yes, we started with the lightest of the mountains, then worked forward and darker. Hope that helps!

I love the side table. Where did you find it?
