Project Urban Cowboy Bathroom Basics

Every design project has a spring board, an element that is the inspiration from which everything else develops. In the #ProjectUrbanCowboy master en-suite, that jumping off point was the matte black fixtures. Sleek and modern, I was thrilled when my clients agreed to them. In particular the wall mounted faucets, which offer a clean and crisp look to the vanity. But unlike deck mounted faucets, wall mounted faucets require significant more forethought and planning. And, of course, should something ever go wrong, it’s good to have the name of someone local who could come out and fix any issues you may have with them, like the team at Make It Drain (makeitdrainplumbing.com/plumbing-services/faucet-repair/) in Los Angeles. Given the popularity of these mounted faucets, I thought I would break down the basics of designing around them for you.

Sunshine, blue skies and gratitude to start the week.  Once again Northern Alberta is aflame with wildfires and last week saw thick, dense smoke blanket Calgary.  Putting our air quality worse than some of the most polluted cities in the world.  While I am so grateful to have our sunny, clear skies back, I have all those who have been displaced from their homes and those on the front lines fighting the fires in my heart, while praying for rain.

I’ve lived in my condo for a number of years and while I adore it, my one frustration is the lack of natural light. Something you have to forgo for when choosing to live in a low-rise building in the inner city – though it doesn’t stop me bookmarking the sites for people like Renewal by Andersen of Connecticut for when I eventually am able to have a proper home of my own and have whatever I want window-wise for as much natural light as possible. So, obviously, when I see homes that are bright and filled with natural light, I can’t help but fall in love. That’s exactly what happened when I spied this weeks Inspired Interiors home tour, designed by the incredible JDP Interiors, this home is welcoming, comfortable and stylish – a deceptively challenging balance to achieve.
