In keeping with the coastal theme this week (click here if you missed my Nautical Nursery post), I’ve got a house tour that personifies small, but mighty.  Despite the meager foot print this weeks Inspired Interiors selection is cozy, curated and gorgeous.  Designer Raquel Garcia combines a thoughtful selection of colour and texture with clean shiplap and enviable natural light to create a space that feels much larger than it is.  A beautiful mix of modern elements, traditional pieces and luxe finishes creates a home that is beautiful and inviting. Client Reveal: Nautical Nursery

While I’m hesitant to declare any space my favourite to design, there is something particularly special about working on a nursery.  Getting to play a small part in preparation for baby – setting the stage, so to speak – is such a joy and a real honour. Nurseries also allow for a little more creativity, which is never a bad thing.

When Jami reached out for help with her second baby’s nursery, she had two wishes: incorporating Joanna Gaines’ shiplap wallpaper and nothing too cutesy – I knew we’d get along smashingly! While it’s easy to get carried away with themes when decorating nurseries and children’s room, creating a space with an understated theme that will grow and transition with the child is my goal.  I knew immediately what I wanted to do: a Nautical Nursery.

Summer is all about dining al fresco. And there is nothing more I love than hosting friends for a casual and laid back summer meal. But with only a small, seven feet by eleven feet inner city balcony, creating an inspiring place to host my dearest required some creativity. Today I’m sharing the tricks I used to create an enchanted inner city outdoor entertaining space for anyone with a small, perhaps uninspired patio or balcony.
