If you’re baking for your Valentine this week, here’s an easy DIY to wrap up the goods in a heart filled way!
You’ll a need a heart shaped punch lever, tissue paper, wax paper, paper towel, an iron set to medium-high heat, and ribbon.
Simply start by folding the tissue paper in half and then half again, you may be able to fold it in half again depending on your punch lever. I found that if I did the paper would get caught, so I left it at two folds. Use the punch lever to cut out hearts, depending on how densely you want them spread out and how big a sheet you need for your baking will dictate how many hearts you’ll cut out.
Turn your iron on to medium-high heat, ensure the steam is turned off.
Lay a layer of paper towel down on the ironing board the same size as the wax paper you’ll need to wrap your baking. Place a sheet of wax paper on top, lay out the hearts you’ve cut out using the lever in whatever design or configuration you’d like. I simply laid them in a grid. Place a second sheet of wax paper on top of the hearts and then a second sheet of paper towel over top that. Gently iron until set. Let the paper cool, wrap your baking, finish it off with the ribbon and there you have it, a heart filled treat for your Valentine!
