I’ve lived in my condo for a number of years and while I adore it, my one frustration is the lack of natural light. Something you have to forgo for when choosing to live in a low-rise building in the inner city. So when I see homes that are bright and filled with natural light, I can’t help but fall in love. That’s exactly what happened when I spied this weeks Inspired Interiors home tour, designed by the incredible JDP Interiors, this home is welcoming, comfortable and stylish – a deceptively challenging balance to achieve. Enjoy!
As of late the projects coming my way are those of older homes in need of some new life. And I couldn’t be happier. While new builds are exciting in their own right, I just love coming into a home with history and giving it a modern update that aligns with my clients style. There’s also a charm in older homes that you just can manufacture in a new build.
But older homes do come with their challenges and can often be tricky to decorate. The balance of historical and contemporary isn’t an easy one to find. This weeks Inspired Interiors home tour has managed to find that balance perfectly.
Brooklyn has come a long way from it’s dodgy hip hop past. It is now one of the trendiest boroughs, with Brownstone lined street and many up and coming businesses and trendsetters choosing to lay roots amongst it’s uber cool urban vibe.
This glamorous apartment throws a gentle nod to that culture and vibe, but let’s the decadent decor, dessigner furniture and subtle femininity do most of the the talking. Needless to say, I am swooning over this weeks addition to the Inspired Interiors series.
