When designing a space it sure helps when the home has good bones. Beautiful architecture is like the canvas in the design process, and a good canvas makes designing and styling so much easier. This weeks Inspired Interiors addition has them bones and so much more.
Shannon Wollack and Brittany Zwickl of California-based Studio Life.Style took on the arduous task of renovating a home built in 1927 down to it’s studs. While they worked to give the space a modern update, they thankfully maintained the homes beautiful Spanish Revival details. Elements like patterned tile and gorgeous arches that give it it’s character.
The major renovations took place in the kitchen. Where we see statement making marble and a gorgeous vintage light fixture above the island.
My favourite room in the house is the dinning room. Incorporating vintage pieces from the homeowners travels, the space has a comfortably worn and aged feel. I could happily spend hours with friends and family around this table.
The master bedroom is a lesson in merging traditional with modern. Neutral tones and soft textures pair beautifully with stunning European floor to ceiling tiles in the master bath.
The designed wanted each of the three and a half bathrooms to make their own dramatic statement. Tile, marble, and wood are woven together beautifully to ensure they do. Which is your favourite?
